We enjoyed our November stay here. We arrived after hours so we didn’t have to go through the hassle of running across the highway to check in. Our site number and park info was pinned to a bulletin board near the bath house. It was nice and quiet and there were not too many people. We had a nice, fairly level, pull-through site. In the summer I can see how it might be a little crowded, but I’d be willing to give it a try. A beautiful beach is right across the street & would be super fun in when it’s warm! We had a no-frills lunch (fish and chips) at the restaurant, which is rustic and has a nice view. Only about 10 minutes from South Lake. We did not use the showers but they were nice & private and clean. Our water hose did freeze one night - lesson learned for us!

We stayed here in our 38' motorhome plus toad. They are short of help so checkin is across the street in the lodge store. We pulled up to the office and left our motorhome there and ran across the street, much easier. The turns were a little tight and backing in was snug, but we took our time and had no problem. We had room to leave our toad in front of our coach. Very pretty site backed up to the trees, site #51, with table and sitting area in the back. You do hear a little highway noise, but as the evening goes on it quiets down. Across the street is the beach, beach bar, boat tours and restaurant, all within an easy walk. We also rode our bikes in the park and along a short trail. We took day trips up the gondola at Heavenly and also over to Inspiration Point, easy drives.

The campground is awesome and in some spots you can see the lake behind the trees. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We stayed during winter so the snow wouldn’t melt and pile up on the sides. For a smaller RV would be a problem to maneuver around the corners. It is very close to a grocery store and just 15 min away from Heavenly! When we had
Had a class B van and it was excellent. Paved. Full hookups in winter. Lots of pine trees throughout the park so it doesn’t feel like a parking lot. It is across the street from gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe.

We are traveling thru to see the next national park but wanted full hookups from boondocking and they have it all, right at your site. We were here in the winter, so many sites are closed and the upper bathhouse is as well. I loved how you could walk across and grab a coffee, browse through the great gift shop and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe just steps away from your campsite. $2.00 w/d laundry facilities (only missing a quarter machine, so bring plenty). The showers had great water pressure and temperature, the bathhouse was a bit dirty because I think they cut staff or lack there of during this season.
We pretty much had a clear view down to the water BUT remember, winter season. I could see how this place could get tight come summertime. Our pull thru site made it a breeze to hook up on the paved site. You will hear some road noise but honestly it wasn’t a bother. HEADS UP to make it easier on yourself and your partner, read the reviews prior to and note that CHECK IN is across the street. Park at the campground (go around by the bathhouse on the right) and have one person go check in, easy when you know;) feel free to check out my Instagram stories for Lake Tahoe. Cave rock is 5 minutes up the road and a 15min hike (kid/pet friendly) , Nevada Beach to play on is the opposite direction 8 min towards town and is a wonderful beach to enjoy as well as walk/run the trails.

When I reserved, they said that I had a premium site which meant that I was guaranteed a particular site. When I came to check in, they had moved me to a different site. I wasn’t thinking at the time and didn’t mention the guarantee but questioned the move. The clerk basically said “too bad”. It was at this point he mentioned a damage deposit which is not on their website and it was not mentioned when I made my reservation. $30 A DAY damage deposit. It seems a little extreme. I am to get it back if I make sure that I unhook my water and electricity. Um, ok?
The roads in the campground are very narrow There was no way I could get into the site that they gave me (135) but they did give me a better site close by. That afternoon, I watched 2 fifth wheels and a travel trailer fail to get into the site. A Class A was finally able to make it in.
Once I finally got settled into my site, it was really nice. Lots of trees ( which made it difficult to maneuver thru the campground) but did wonders for the ambience. You are right across the street from Lake Tahoe with a wonderful beach and several miles of Forest Service trails. Dogs are not allowed on the Zephyr Cove beach but just walk further down and the dogs could enjoy the lake.

Spaces are close together. Varying in length of pads with sites large enough for 45ft class A. Walk in bike in sites available. Hookups as well on select sites. Showers are hot, and bathrooms are decent. Steel toilets so it takes a second to warm up 😂🥶 quick hop across the street to the beach. Some sites are close to the roadway so they could be noisy at night.

Staff was really nice and welcoming, which is always a good start for us.
Site was a back-in 50 amp full hookup.
Sites are really comfortable under the trees and right near a hiking trail.
Some sites were tight . Ours was oddly shaped so the neighbor's back of the trailer was about 6-7 ft from ours, but the rest of the site was spacious.
Cell service was not good for AT&T and worse for Verizon, even using our WeBoost.
Close to a restaurant and the lake (directly across the street). Also, 5 min for groceries,15 min for diesel. Regular gas is a bit closer.
Road noise but nothing too bad.

We stayed here on New Years weekend. Although there was no snow this winter and it’s impacting the local economy, the park filled up both nights. The staff was good, although the phone number is off-site for reservations and general calls. The access to spaces is tight, especially with snow poles up. The place is completely shaded by old growth pines. The park is well maintained, and beautiful. There are definitely bears around at warmer times of year FYI. There’s RV and tent sites. Sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Wood in the gift shop is $10. The sites towards the back are nestled around beautiful hillsides with granite rock formations. We didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t speak for them. Road noise is noticeable at the front but we weren’t bothered. At the back, it would be pretty quiet. The restaurant was slow but tasty. Has a full bar. Good burgers. They own property at the lakeside, and a big boat for tours. The summer photos show the lakeside packed with people. We visited Sand Harbor, which has lovely beaches, but would probably also be packed in summer. We’ll be back. This is a beautiful, relaxing place!
